Probes for Tube Inspection

The VibraTech tube probe range offers lightweight but sturdy solutions for various tube inspection methods, including eddy current (EC), remote field, magnetic flux leakage, and IRIS ultrasound. Our tube inspection probes are used for ferromagnetic or non-ferromagnetic tube inspection applications across heat exchangers, condensers, and balance-of-plant tubing.

From eddy current bobbin probes to flexible bullet probes, the range includes solutions for a wide array of inspection needs. High‑resolution tube probes are ideal for thin tubing inspections such as titanium tubing, while Airgun™ probes feature grooved designs perfect for steam condensers, coolers, and heat exchangers.

Eddy Current Array Tube Probes

TXE probes

TXE eddy current array tube probes are ideal for detecting circumferential cracks, particularly at the edge of supports or tube sheets. They produce intuitive C-scan images and can scan the full tube length at very high speeds.

Remote Field Probes

Remote field probes with integrated preamplifiers offer improved wear resistance and signal-to-noise ratio. They are engineered to detect pitting, corrosion, and erosion in ferromagnetic tubing using single or dual exciter and pickup configurations.

Near-Field Probes

Near-field probes provide excellent detection of internal corrosion, erosion, and axial cracking. They return high-quality, amplitude-based signals that simplify analysis and are particularly suited for fin-fan carbon steel tube inspection.

Magnetic Flux Leakage Probes

Magnetic flux leakage probes feature a high-saturation magnetic design and changeable wear rings for durability. They are ideal for air-cooler tubing with aluminium fins and for circumferential crack detection in ferromagnetic tubes.

IRIS Probes

Internal rotary inspection system (IRIS) probes use an ultrasonic beam in a helicoidal scan to inspect the internal surface of tubes. Operating in pulse-echo mode, they measure wall thickness, material loss, and defect orientation in tubes from 0.5 in. to 3 in. ID.

Eddy Current Bobbin Probes

Eddy current bobbin probes are lightweight, economical, and sturdy, with coils protected by plastic sleeves and stainless steel wear guides. They are well suited for heaters, coolers, and heat exchanger inspections.

Eddy Current Air Conditioner Probes

Air conditioner eddy current probes include differential bobbin sets and circumferentially sensitive pancake arrays. Their robust construction makes them suitable for HVAC tubing in demanding environments.

Eddy Current Titanium Probes

Titanium eddy current probes use a titanium protective cover and stainless steel wear guides for maximum durability. They are ideal for heaters, coolers, and heat exchangers where long probe life is critical.

Eddy Current High-Resolution Probes

High-resolution tube probes have narrow coils protected by sleeves and wear guides, making them ideal for thin tubing inspections such as titanium tubes where small defects must be resolved clearly.

Image à ajouter

Eddy Current Flexible Bullet Probes

Flexible bullet probes combine stainless steel construction with titanium coil protection, enabling inspection of tight U-bends down to small curvature radii without sacrificing durability.

Eddy Current Airgun Probes

Airgun probes are lightweight eddy current probes designed for use with push‑pull systems such as Airgun probe drivers. Grooved designs reduce pushing force at the tube end and improve durability, ideal for steam condensers, coolers, and heat exchangers.

CARTER Super Magnetic Bias Probes

CARTER super magnetic bias probes use hardened wear surfaces and strong magnetic biasing to suppress permeability noise in mildly ferritic alloys such as Monel, 3RE60, SEA‑CURE, and 400‑series stainless steels.

Custom Tube Inspection Probes

Beyond the standard probe range, VibraTech can help you specify or source custom tube inspection probes tailored to your geometry, alloy, and inspection requirements. Probes can be designed to match the contours of a part or integrated into automated fixtures and push‑pull systems for fast, repeatable inspections.
